What is Farflung?
Farflung is a daily map quiz built around geographic clues and country choices. Each round gives you five prompts. For every prompt, you mark a country on the map and submit your answer.
The game makes an unusual answer part of the strategy: rarer answers can take your expedition farther. That makes Farflung different from a standard capital or flag quiz, where the most obvious answer is usually the goal.
The original Farflung game is published at farflung.game by Farflung LLC. The playable panel on this page uses the independent version at farflunggame.com, which is a separate project. Krillion Unlimited is not affiliated with either project.
How to play Farflung step by step
- Start the embedded Farflung-style game in the panel above. It loads the independent playable version at farflunggame.com inside this guide.
- Choose the Daily Expedition when it is shown in the current game interface.
- Read the geographic prompt carefully before selecting a country.
- Click the country you think fits on the world map, then submit it.
- Review the answer rarity and the distance your choice earned.
- Continue until you have completed all five prompts.
The map is part of the answer. Zoom or reposition it only when that helps you identify a country; do not treat a hard-to-see border as evidence that a nearby country is correct. The exact controls can change as the official game evolves, so use the labels on farflung.game as the final authority.
Farflung answer rarity explained
The official page displays answer rarity levels including Common, Uncommon, Rare, Elusive and Farflung. They describe how unusual an accepted answer is in the game’s answer pool.
Rarity is a useful way to understand why two correct country choices can send an expedition different distances. The official interface is the source for the result shown for a particular prompt; this guide does not assign fixed scores to the labels.
A rare answer is not automatically the right answer. Start with the clue, choose a country that fits, and then use the result to learn how the game values that answer. We do not publish a list of countries that are always the best choice.
| Label shown by the game | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Common | A frequently chosen or expected answer |
| Uncommon | A less frequent accepted answer |
| Rare | An unusual accepted answer |
| Elusive | A particularly hard-to-find answer |
| Farflung | The game’s most distinctive rarity label |
The daily expedition
The daily expedition gives players a shared set of five prompts to work through in a browser. Your aim is to interpret the clue, make a country selection and learn from the rarity and distance feedback after each submission.
Keep the date shown by the official game when comparing results with someone else. We have not verified a universal reset timezone, so this guide does not promise that a new expedition appears at local midnight or at midnight UTC.
If a prompt is ambiguous, make your best supported choice and move on. A screenshot or result summary should include the date and the prompt context so another player can tell which expedition you mean.
Is there a Farflung unlimited mode?
Farflung currently focuses on its daily expedition. The official FAQ says that an unlimited mode is planned for the future, but it is not currently available on the reviewed site.
You can read this guide as often as you like, but that does not create extra official expeditions or turn this independent page into a Farflung Unlimited game. If the official site adds a new mode, check its own navigation and FAQ before relying on a third-party description.
For more repeatable play on this collection, explore the games listed in our daily and unlimited modes page. Their rules belong to their own providers and should not be mixed with Farflung’s daily system.
